How do I move my domain to another provider?
Want to move a domain to another provider? You arrange that yourself. Your new provider starts the move with a transfer code, also known as an EPP code, authorisation code, or token. You request that code in My WebOké.
- Log in to My WebOké, go to My Domains and click on the domain.
- Check on the Advanced card whether the transfer lock is on. If it is, turn it off first; otherwise the registry will refuse the move. For .nl, .eu, .be and .nu there is no transfer lock: there, the transfer code itself is the security measure.
- On the Advanced card, click Show EPP code and copy the code. For some extensions you'll receive the code by email. You can also find all your codes listed together under My Domains > Transfer centre, on the Request EPP codes card.
- Give the code to your new provider. They will start the move.
Good to know
- The transfer code is the key to your domain. Only give it to the provider you're moving to.
- For a .be domain, you request the code yourself from DNS Belgium; we can't retrieve that one for you.
- After the move, your new provider arranges the renewal. Your website and email don't move along automatically. If you no longer need the hosting package afterwards, cancel it in My Products.
